Wow, the shrimp and grits "Lowcountry" style was amazing. The shrimp were fresh and the grits were delicious. Also had a great old fashion. My wife had a delicious combo of the best crab cake ever, scallops and shrimp. Server was friendly and very good. She wasn't pushy when we hung out a little after we ate. Thanks for the fantastic hospitality!!
If you're looking for the best shrimp and grits, look no further than the Acme low country. Excellent service surpassed by the grits and shrimp dinners. Generous portions, and you can mix and match any of the shrimp and grits varites..nice beer selection. Its clearly been around a long time, for good reason. Just go.
The food was the best we had on Isle of isle palms and Charleston combined . The scallops, shrimp and crab cake placed on creamy grits were cooked to perfection and the Brussel sprouts were delicious. I think the entree was called the top flight. A nice glass of Edna valley Cabernet topped it off perfectly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was delicious! The service was great too! I highly recommend this restaurant!
If you are looking for a casual spot with delicious food, Acme is a great choice. We did a walk in with 7 people and were seated right away. The servers were very friendly. This place is known for their shrimp and grits and I understand why. They have 6 different variations of their signature dish so definitely something for everyone. I went with the Isle of Palms shrimp and grits and it was DELICIOUS. I am still thinking about the blackened shrimp. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes which were also a hit!
Take a break from the beach! Come, ask for Jessica and enjoy your meal with awesome service. First time there, it won't be the last. Wife had a salmon salad for lunch, it was good, I enjoyed the crab cake sandwich and a local Indian pale ale. Desert was cheese cake and it was yummy!
Acme is super popular but parking availability is not on par with the restaurant’s popularity. We had to park on the road and weren’t sure whether it was an ok spot. Fortunately Ashton, our waitress, was so kind and helpful that she offered to go and check out the spot without us asking her to!!! We are so thankful for her willingness to help. By doing that, she had allowed us to fully enjoy our lunch, which was delicious! Thank you so much Ashton.
Oh WOW! Great local seafood restaurant! It was cold rainy night, so it was less crowded. The building is not fancy, but I like that. Antique lights and shiplap walls give a good ambience. The service was nice. The food came pretty quick. Nice and hot! The wife and I got the "Always local shimp" and the "Newfound scallops " and split the two between us. Nice portions. A nice touch after we ordered the waitress came back asking "Fried or Sauté "? We got both sautéed. Fantastic! Fresh hot! Buttery! Thank for a wonderful evening! Not cheap but it Charleston and it's fresh and VERY Good...$80 (with tip).
Acme Lowcountry Kitchen absolutely blew me away. I’ve had shrimp and grits all over the South, but nothing compares to what they serve here — hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. Their shrimp are also local, Perfectly cooked shrimp, creamy grits, and flavors that hit every note just right. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and just appreciate the moment. The staff was equally impressive — warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. You can tell they care about the food and the people. The whole vibe is relaxed but polished, and it made for an unforgettable meal. Acme is awesome
